We didn’t like the ferry journey? Boy, did we get own back tonight!

Before mum and dad went out tonight we all went for a really long walk. It was hot and we went all the way down to look at our new house. I’ve told mum she should take her camera next time and get some photos to show you all, sometimes she needs telling.
Anyway, they went out tonight and we were supposed to be tired and sleep while they were out - but we didn’t!
We were playing and we had our dinner and then I found something. We like paper, we like chewing paper, cardboard, books, anything made from paper. Our love of paper started with the loo roll that used to be in the bathroom at the old house. Mum used to put a tissue under her pillow at night, but we could get that and shred it so she’s stopped.
That map of Andalucia that she worked so hard to get? Well, there’s now part of Spain missing – I ate it. Apparently, if we travel south for more than half an hour we are in a ‘map black hole’. 20 minutes further and we’re back on the map – life’s full of excitement, we should just go and see what’s therefore for ourselves, never mind what the map says!
But today, we excelled ourselves! There were some newspapers on a shelf we could get at - so tonight while they were out we got them……….and me & our Brandy shredded them. It was great fun!
I’ll put a photo on tomorrow – I’m really proud of what we did!

Brandy has his passport!
Well done Brandy!
We’ve moved to Spain and it’s brill!

It all started about a week ago when suddenly all our favourite chairs were gone and we were left with some other chairs that weren’t as nice. But we didn’t have them for long before we were off for a drive in the car. It was different this time, usually we’re in our travel crate which is getting a bit small for me and Brandy to be in at the same time, but this time our crate was there, but we also had some room to walk about and our favourite cushion was there for us to lay on. There was enough room for both me and our Brandy to lie down if we wanted to.
I didn’t want to at first, there was so much to see outside the window but it got boring after a while and it got a little bit hot so I went into our travel crate ‘cos it was cooler in there.
I remember we stopped a few times and we got some nice treats – much better than our normal dinner. We had a long stop at one place and this man came with a big truck and took a wheel off the car, and then he put it back on again. I don’t know what that was all about but after that we were all back in the car, again, and went to somewhere called Plymouth. We liked Plymouth, there was a really good park near the hotel but it was really windy and our ears were blowing about a lot.
We stayed in this hotel and had to go up lots and lots of stairs. We were really tired after being in the car all day so we were glad to go to bed.
The next day we were up early for a walk and then we were back in the car. We were hoping we weren’t going to be in the car as long as the day before, that was a long time. But, we were only in the car a little while and we drove into this big boat. Mum had to give my passport to this lady and so now I know what all those visits to the vet was for – so I could go on this big boat. Our Brandy hasn’t got his yet but they still let him on.
But, WE DIDN’T LIKE THE BOAT – IT WAS HORRIBLE!
We wanted to go back in the car.
They put us in prison! Mum and Dad carried us up in this lift thing with other dogs with their mums and dads. They all had their beds and toys and treats, just like us and we thought we were going into another hotel like we’d just been in, but it wasn’t nice like last night. It was a cold, hard metal box with bars we couldn’t get through. At first I was in a different box to Brandy and I didn’t like being on my own, I was frightened. None of the other dogs were happy and they were all barking and shouting and making a lot of noise, which scared us even more.
After a little while mum and dad came back and gave us both a huge cuddle. We didn’t want them to go away again, but they did. This time they put us in the same box, it was a bit cramped but I didn’t mind ‘cos at least I was with our Brandy.
Mum and Dad came back ever so many times and every time I hoped they wouldn’t put us back in the box, but they did. We did go for walks but it was ever so windy and really cold and some times it was raining so we didn’t like it but we needed to pee.
They left us there to sleep at bedtime so we just had to cuddle up together and try and cover our ears to shut out the noise from the other dogs. We didn’t sleep much.
After a long time mum and dad came back and this time they didn’t put us back in the box. They just kept cuddling us for ages and then they took our beds out of the box so we knew we weren’t going back in. Then we went back into the lift and we were back at the car. I didn’t care how long we were going to be in the car, just as long as we weren’t going back in the box.
It was dark and noisy to start with but then we started to move and we could see the sky – and it was blue. Dad drove us away from the boat – I don’t ever want to go there again!
But from then it’s got better………..

I've got my passport! (What's a passport?)

Anyway, they dragged me today and the vet looked at us and did something but it didn't hurt, infact I didn't feel anything. Mum said something about taking stitches out, but I don't know what that means.
Anyway, then they started talking about a passport and they all seemed really excited about it, as if it's something good. I don't know what it's all about, I know it;s nothing to eat and nothing to play with so I can't see what the excitement's all about! Anyway, if it's a good thing then I'm glad it's me that's got it and not our Brandy - apparently his hasn't come yet!
P.S by mum - We were very surprised to find that the passport is the same size as ours, although a different colour and as well as having all the details about Brinkley, date of birth, type of dog, owners details etc, there is also place for a photo - so, tomorrow we will be printing off a photo of Brinkley (from his best side of course) and sticking it in place.
Just waiting for Brandy's test results to come back, there is still a chance it may be back before we go next week.

Brandy, don’t stand still, you’ll get packed!
Yesterday, we were in the kitchen and all the cupboards were getting emptied into boxes, so we were just sat there watching, as you do, after all our treats are kept in one of the cupboards, so there was every chance we might get something. Next thing we knew, we were in a box! It was too big to get out, we did try, really hard. Luckily, mum helped us out and said she was only playing, that we aren’t really going to Spain in a box.

Brinkley’s Great Escape (but he came back!)
While we were visiting, the pups behaved themselves beautifully, they really are very good when we take them visiting. Unfortunately, my uncle is not used to having dogs in the house, so when the smoke alarm went off while he was cooking dinner he opened the back door – normal reaction. Hey, ho – Brinkley spotted the opening and he was off before anyone could stop him.
Off down the drive to the pavement where fortunately he heard me call him and turned to look back. Just for a minute I thought he was going to head off down the road as he started to run in front of next door, so I called him a few more times and I breathed a huge sigh of relief as he made a huge U-turn, ran across the neighbours lawn and back up the drive to me, tail wagging.
He has never been out without a lead before so I wasn’t sure what he would do, but I was so pleased to see him come running back up the drive. No harm done!
Wow, that ‘urt!
There was a huge black dog across from me and every time someone came in he barked really loud and then I remembered, we’d been somewhere like this before. It didn’t smell quite the same and Brandy had been with me then, but it was nearly the same.
Anyway, I decided to shout our Brandy to see if it was him and he shouted back, so that was good, we needed to find mummy.
And after a bit mummy came in with another lady, it was really good to see her, even though last night we didn’t like her because she wouldn’t give us any of our favourite biscuits and things.
Mummy picked me up and the other lady got Brandy, he looked as tired as I felt, and we went out to the car and that’s when I first noticed it, a twinge as I got into the car, down by my back legs. When we got home mummy took us into the house in our travel crate and I didn’t want to get out ‘cos I didn’t want it to twinge again. But, she’d made us some scrambled egg so I had to get out ‘cos I was so hungry!
As the evening went on we had lovely bits of to eat but in order to get them I had to put up with these twinges and I couldn’t go upstairs anymore ‘cos it ‘urt too much. I had a word with our Brandy and he said he felt the same. Geez, I hope she doesn’t want us to take her for a walk through the park tomorrow, I don’t think I could manage it!
(Written Fri 25th April, but mummy not been on the computer until today)
P.S. It’s a few days since I had any twinges and now, it doesn’t twinge anymore so whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore ‘cos I can chase our Brandy again and run quicker than him and I can run upstairs and it doesn’t hurt anymore. I wonder what it was?
