Wot are mum & dad thinking? No sooner have we met Sophie, who is a whirlwind in the shape of a little dog - her mum left her with us - ALL DAY - while she went shopping. Now, meeting for a drink is one thing - having her left here all day is something else.
First thing we noticed is our food dishes had been put out of reach. Now, we are allowed to eat whenever we want throughout the day (and night if we fancy a midnight snack) BUT...
'because Sophie isn't allowed to eat through the day - we suddenly aren't allowed to either ....
IN OUR OWN HOME!!!!!!! errrr, mum!
Every time we went out into the garden she came as well, if we played with a toy she took it away from us. Now I'm used to our Brandy taking toys of me but our Brandy certainly isn't used to having toys taken off him by anyone other than our mum. Ha, now he knows what it feels like - and he wasn't impressed!
If we went back into the house, Sophie came too. Now I know that she isn't allowed on the furniture at home but she was certainly making herself at home at our place, (mind you, to be fair - we do when we go to visit Aunty Lucy)
Anyway, we all had a sit down with our dad and he explained to us that Sophie only wants to play with us, and that me and our Brandy are lucky 'cos we have each other to play with whereas Sophie hasn't got a bruvver or sister to play with at home. And she likes playing with our toys because - well, basically, they're good toys. Now, I know Aunty Lucy has bought Sophie lots of toys but they're not all as good as ours. But she will get more good toys 'cos some of our favourites were bought for us by Aunty Lucy.
Dad also explained that Sophie was excited to have new friends as she'd been abandoned by her last owner and then she's been in a dogs home for a few weeks with lots of other doggies and although the lady that looked after them all loved them all as much as she could, she couldn't have much attention 'cos there were so many other doggies.
Then Aunty Lucy had seen her and decided to bring her home to live with her and that it will take Sophie a little while to understand that Aunty Lucy loves her and won't abandon her again. And then our Brandy and me realised how lucky we are to have our mummy & daddy all the time and that we would try and be friends with Sophie, even though she runs and jumps around a lot and takes our toys and eats our food.
At tea time mum fed all of us together and I let Sophie eat out of my dinner dish and I shared with our Brandy. Then we all had a lay down with mum and a sleep until Aunty Lucy came back for Sophie. By the end of the day we were all getting on much better.

WEDNESDAY:
We had a good day today and dad didn't play golf today 'cos it was too windy so he was at home all day. Then, when it got dark we all went out in the car - as far as Aunty Lucy's - where we were left with Sophie while mum & dad went out. Now, on our own turf we can cope with her but now we were on 'er patch! She was still giddy and so I just kept me head down. I tried hiding behind the curtains to get some peace - but she thought I was playing a game and came and found me. I decided to put my worried look on my face so that Aunty Lucy would take pity on me and give me lots of cuddles - and it worked!
THURSDAY:
It's been a really nice day today. Our Brandy's spent most of the day laying on his cushion outside in the sunshine, we've had a great walk on the campo and played in the garden. Then this afternoon mum told us we were going for a walk along the prom and then going to meet up with dad for a drink. We were at the gate ready to go out when she told us we were going in the car first.

Yes, you've guessed it, we were calling for Sophie on the way. But, you know, the more we see her the better we like her and we actually had a really good walk together - obviously mum & Aunty Lucy were there as well.
So much stress in one week! But now we know a bit more about Sophie at least we can understand why she's a bit excitable and she's alright really ....... for a girl!
