New tricks!

Now that we've grown up we've started to find we can get to things we couldn't get to before. Mummy & Daddy couldn't work out how we were doing things for ages - then mum spotted us.

One night they'd gone out and left a newspaper on the dining room table. Now, we worked it out that if we stood on our back legs and rested our front legs on the seats of the dining chairs which could get to from the side, we could just reach the little bit of the paper that was peaking out over the edge of the table - yep, a little bit of a stretch and we had it - welcome home mum & dad, we've shredded it - all over the floor.

Next trick - we managed to get one of the table mats off the table and mum couldn't find it when they came to have dinner 'cos we'd hidden it in our travel crate - she found it eventually but it was funny while she was looking for it. If we could whistle nonchalently, we would've!

So, they started to move everything away so we couldn't reach anything and we had to find something else to do.

So, we did!

First of all, we went upstairs to the roof terrace, 'course we had to wait until all the rain had stopped first.

Then when we got to the top we had a look to see what we could see, but the walls were in the way, so.......

.....we went across the roof terrace and jumped up to see what we could see .............and a whole new world opened up for us. We could see the cats in next doors garden, we could see other doggies as they walked up the road and we could see lots of people walking around, it was great.

And as long as we don't bark (too much), mum and dad don't mind.

Now we go up there a lot and it's not too hot anymore so we don't have to worry about getting sun stroke.

It's dead good having a bruvver to play with on a rainy day!

Yep, it's still raining and although we don't mind going out in it, Mum makes such a fuss when we come back in, chasing us around with towels to dry our feet and rub our coats, it gets dead annoying. Then she won't let us go out so we have to play inside. But today me and our Brandy's had a brill time. We got one of our old toys out that our Uncle Andy got us for Christmas.

Now when we first had them they were huge. We used to sleep with them in our beds 'cos they kept us warm. Uncle Andy got us one each, this is me with mine when I was a baby - all together now......

aaaahhhhhh!

Now that we're bigger than them, we can pull 'em around and kill 'em and it's right good when we both pick on the same one, it don't stand a chance!

Sometimes, we need to have a rest, but we still keep it pinned down ready for the next attack.

And when the day is finished and it's time to go to bed, we always make sure we're together 'cos our Brandy's my bestest friend and I'm his.

I luv my bruv!

When's it going to stop mum?

Just a week ago we were outside with our shades on. It was sunny, it was warm and it was dry.

When Mum told us we were moving to live in Spain she told us it was the driest part of Spain, it hardly ever rained and we would be able to play outside all the time.

Well guess what? She lied!!!

It rained so heavy on Sunday night we couldn't go out for our walk before bedtime.

It rained on Tuesday, so heavy we couldn't go out for more than 2 minutes without getting drenched - but it was only for the morning and then it was sunny and dry.

Then it started again last night, and it rained, and it rained and guess what - it's still raining now. So we've not been for our walk this morning and we're still waiting. We keep checking and Mum says we can go out but we have to use a 'brolly' - go on then, how are we going to hold onto one of them things? Besides, all them other dogs would think we were soft lads.

And when it rains here it really, really rains. Luckily we live on an 'ill so it all runs down towards the sea, but it's like a river and me and our Brandy are frightened we'll get swept away.

Oh, hang on - it's stopped. Got to go, I can hear the jangle of my lead.
See ya!

Well, thanks very much mum!

Yesterday, we called to see Aunty Lucy and she told us that we were all going out today, our Brandy, mum and Aunty Lucy ..... and that she just might have a surprise for us.

This morning, mum said we weren't going for our usual early walk 'cos we were going for a walk along the promenade next to the beach with Aunty Lucy.

We were really good about not going out for our early walk, even though we really like going out early. We were really good when mum took dad to golf, we were even really good when she came back and STILL didn't take us out. We love walking down by the beach, we love our Aunty Lucy - we were happy to wait.

AND THEN IT STARTED TO RAIN!

Now, if you've read mum's blog, you'll know that at the moment when it rains, it's raining sand and that everything is getting covered in a thick brown layer of dust so guess what,

it starts to rain ......

AND WE DON'T GET TO GO OUT!!!

But wait, it gets worse.

Not only do we not get to go out BUT......

MUM WENT OUT ANYWAY - BUT WITHOUT US!

When she came back she brought us a new toy that Aunty Lucy had got for us, but trust me - it didn't do it for us. We were looking forward to our promised walk...

Thanks a lot mum.

So, what's been happening lately?

This is me just waiting for something to happen.
Over the last few weeks something was always happening, and this week it's all stopped. We did go shopping on Sunday to a place nearby called Villarricos, a nice little place with boats. The market was good 'cos there were loads of doggies there, some of which were really friendly and this old man stopped and stroked us. We couldn't understand what he was saying because he spoke that Spanish language that mum's learning, so she spoke to him for us.
And when we came home we had to go a really daft way round town to get home because there was this event on called a triathalon, where they were swimming in the sea and then bike riding and running along the promenade but we didn't think much to it - mum said there were lots of very fit young men - whatever that means.
And when we were in the car we got stopped in a long queue on the road while this procession of floats crossed over near Puerta Rey 'cos they was havin' a festival on the beach, Dad says they were probably throwing something into the sea, 'cos that's what they normally do.
And when we were coming home from Aguilas we had to go through a lot of police who were stopping cars, but they didn't stop us, Dad says they were only stopping posh cars.
And on Sunday we all went to a party at Rags's house, but Rags isn't very well and has had to go to the vets today and stay in to have some stuff dripped into her. Rags is a lovely doggy who lives next door but one, she was a rescue dog and has got some really nice people looking after her now, but she's been poorly before this with a bad eye and so she is really unhappy.
And last night we went to visit Rusty, another of our doggy friends. She's another resue doggy - actually nearly all our friends are rescue doggies, mum says it's because there are a lot of doggies not looked after properly over here.
Anyway, me and our Brandy are just waiting around for something to happen, 'cos it's really quiet at the moment!

Our Brandy swims out on his own......but not for long!

Our Brandy really loves being in the pool, he will swim out from the step himself and fetch back toys - he's really good at it

However, I got fed-up running around the edge of the pool rather than being in with him so I asked mum to help me.....

And now we can do synchronised swimming (but I still let brandy get the toy, I haven't worked out how to get it yet - when I try it just swims away from me, I think I would have to put my face under water, and that's not something I'm keen on!)
