I've lost a claw. I should have 4 and I only have 3.
I have 4 on my left paw but I only have 3 on my right paw.
I have 4 on each of my back paws but I only have 3 on my front right.
I've looked everywhere for it, but it's gone.
My paw doesn't hurt but it is red.
When I walk I leave red paw prints everywhere.
The last time I saw it was when I went out to bark at Zak.
Dad came out and shouted at us to stop barking so we came into the house
THEN ALL HELL LET LOOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mum picked me up quickly
Dad wrapped a big wad of wet cloth round my paw
Mum held me tight while Dad looked at my paw and said 'he's got a claw missing'.
Honest, I don't know where or when I lost it but I didn't mean to, I'm sorry!
Mum sat and cuddled me for ages until I could walk without leaving red paw prints and then she made me put my paw in a bowl of warm water that smelled funny ( I hear her say antiseptic, but I don't know what that means!)
I've been outside looking for my claw but I can't find it anywhere. I heard Dad tell Mum that I must have caught it on the fence when I was up barking at Zak and had to move away quickly when Zak jumped up at the other side and frightened me.
I wonder if I'll ever get another one or if I'm scarred for life?
I think our Brandy's jealous of all the cuddles I'm getting.

We haven't done much lately!
Well, there's not been a lot to tell you about lately, 'cos me and our Brandy, we don't do nothing.
These are some of the things we haven't done:
We haven't gone upstairs, taken one of Dad's ties off his rack and chewed it to bits! (Well, it was dangling on the floor all teasing like - what's a dog to do?)
We haven't eaten a bone from a lamb joint and then had a squirty botty all over the only bit of carpet in the house (but mum, you were at golf and our Brandy couldn't get out - I told him to cross all his legs - hang on a minute, I just heard Mum tell Dad she thinks it was me - how dare she!!!!!)
Note from Brandy - 'me thinks he doth protest too much! (OK, so it's a cultured note from Brandy!)
We haven't taken every opportunity to pull the toilet roll down from the holder and play at 'let's be an Andrex puppy'. (Our Brandy's not very good at that game but I'm brilliant!)
We haven't 'bumped into' mad Bima on the Campo while walking with mum (Bima is a crazy labrador about our age but oh, so much bigger and she is like a turbo charged Sophie. Anyway, Mum goes for spanish lessons with Bima's mum and so when Bima saw Mum from a distance she came hurtling over and rolled our Brandy over in the dirt 2 or 3 times, you should've seen the colour of 'im! She didn't get me 'cos I hid behind Mum and our Mum had t sort her out!)
We haven't driven Mum mad barking at Zak through the fence - Zak lives next door and is a big scarey Alsation - and he really frightens us - but when we are in the garden there is a metal fence between us and he can't get us so we can bark and bark and wind him up and he gets in to trouble from his Daddy - it's a good game -'till Mum comes and stops us!
We haven't been laying out in the garden in the warm sunshine day after day
We haven't been for brilliant long walks around the golf course, along the prom, through the campo and down to the beach.
As I said, I haven't written anything for a while because we've been too busy not doing anything.
Later,
Brinkley.

Pobre, Pobre Perro!

This is our Brandy after our walk on the Campo yesterday. He was feeling really, really sorry for himself.
Why?
Because he had managed to get a big thorn stuck in his foot. He had to stand and wait until I fetched Mum & Dad so that they could pull it out. He did walk home without any problems,
BUT
once home he started to limp on it!
I think he was looking for sympathy biscuits!
And yes, of course he got them (and so did I)
Cheers bruv, hope your paws better soon!
Luv Brinkley

Apparently, we used to smell like a dog, but not anymore!
Today it was sunny,
Today it was warm,
Today it was bathtime!
I told our Brandy we may as well 'stand still, let 'er get on wi' it and it would soon be over'. I got done first and it only took a few minutes. I had to stand in the bath and have water showered all over me, then I got all soapy and that wasn't too bad 'cos we still have some puppy shampoo left and that's quite nice and mum's always careful not to get it near our face. I don't like getting my ears done but she never makes the water go in our ears so thats ok. Then all the soapy stuff was washed off and I was wrapped in a huge big towel and took outside to dry off in the sun. Actually, that bit was quite nice.

Then, would you believe it Mum & Dad got in that big tub of their's at the top of the drive and when they'd been in there a while, they got out and came and sat in the sun to dry. I thought it was something they made us do but if they do it as well, it must be ok!
So Mum says we are now soft, fluffy and sweet smelling - good job we don't have a tough image to maintain - we'd be laughed down the street!

Mum here.
I thought I would just give a bit of an update on how the boys are doing now - from our point of view.
Ok, since we moved house they seem to have grown up almost over night. They have stopped chewing the back of the settee, they have stopped chewing the dining room chairs and Neil has now been able to repair these and they look good again.
They seem very content little dogs, I can't call them puppies anymore because they really aren't. They are fully grown now, are still full of mischief and are totally adorable.
This morning Neil was playing golf but I wasn't because we have friends coming round for dinner tonight so I needed to do some cleaning (it's a woman thing). I'd had a distrubed night as Brandy needed to go out at 3am, not something that they do very often and at least he told me he needed to go out, so I thought I'd have a lie in and Neil left me to sleep - but the boys had other ideas. Brandy came and sat on my stomach and licked my nose to wake me whilst Brinkley pulled at my arm to give him a cuddle, you just have to love 'em.
On the whole though, they are really good dogs. Brinkley is now having the odd problem with his rear leg, the same as Brandy, so we're keeping an eye on both of them but it certainly doesn't stop them chasing around after each other, and running along with Sophie when we are out on walks.
Brandy still bullies Brinkley over food and we have to keep a close eye on Brinkley to make sure he gets enough to eat. He doesn't seem too bothered by it but there are times when we have to deliberately feed him up as he gets too thin and I worry about him. Brandy also bullies him over their toys, whatever Brinkley has, Brandy wants and normally gets. It's difficult not to interfere sometimes, but we have to allow them to sort out the pecking order. Sometimes though, Brinkley looks really upset by it and then I can't help but give him extra cuddles. Brinkley has a face that always looks sad, he reminds me of the cat out of Shrek, and Brandy has a face that always looks cross.
But no matter how they have been with each other, if either of them gets hurt the other always goes over to see that they are ok, and at night, they still curl up next to each other to sleep, it's often difficult to know where one dog starts and the other ends.
They love being outside and I can't wait until the weather is a little warmer and we can leave the door open for them again (as it is at the moment), as we are constantly getting up to let them out and then to let them back in and of course, they don't always go out at the same time. Since we moved here it has been obvious how much more independent they are, they are no longer under my feet every time I move and some times I have to go looking for them to make sure they are ok, and usually they are just settled in the sun outside or sat at the top of the drive watching the world go by.
But they do still have the odd puppy moment. This morning Brandy was downstairs with me and Brinkley went missing upstairs. After 10 minutes I decided to go and see what he was up to and he was happily sat in the bathroom having an Andrex moment - he was surrounded by toilet roll - bless!
Oh, and the other puppy moment they often have? The back door is wide open and they come to the front door to be let in - they are learning what we mean when we tell them to go around the back though, which is quite good, but Brinkley is taking longer to learn this than Brandy.
Well, that's them barking outside so I better go and quieten them down, don't want the neighbours falling out with us.

The sun's back - yippee!

Then, when the rain finally stopped it got really windy again and cold and cloudy.
And then we got up today and we have the sun back - and we can play outside and life is good again.
We have both got a new toy to play with. Mum says it's a serviette with a knot tied in it. We can play tug-of-war, we can play chase and we can play fetch with them. If they get mucky mum can wash 'em dead easy and we don't get in to trouble for chewing them because there's no stuffing to pull out all over the place. We think they're great. Trouble is, although we have 3 in total, Brandy always wants the one I have and even though I tell him to go and get his own, he never does, he always wants mine! Still, I can run faster than him so he doesn't always get it.
Mum says the sunshine is here for a few days so we should be going for a long walk tomorrow around the golf course with Sophie - can't wait!

We've had our hair cut.
We've been growing our fur for a few months now, since well before Christmas and we needed to because it's cold in Spain in winter. But we're starting to get some really sunny days and it gets quite warm so Mum said it was time we had a haircut. Also, it's now when there are lots of insects about that could get stuck in our fur when we are out playing on the Campo. And also, when our fur gets long we get lots of knots in it and it 'urts when Mum and Dad try to get rid of them.
So, Mum's had the scissors out. She doesn't use them clipper things anymore 'cos me and our Brandy don't like the way they feel when she switches them on. I got done first and then our Brandy. Well, our Brandy didn't seem to mind at all 'cos Mum turned him on his back to do his tummy and his legs and feet, and what did he do? He only went to sleep. What's that all about? Mum'll be expecting me to do that next time and I don't like being on my back, it's not comfy. My favourite position is laid on my tummy, next to my Mum with my head on the keyboard of her computer when she is typing, I like all the tippy tappin' she does and I like to help when I can.
Anyway, Mum seemed to clip a right lot of fur of us both, I'm sure she could have made a whole new puppy from what she took off us, but I certainly feel a lot better and Mum says we look really smart so tomorrow we're having special photos taken and I'll stick one on here when it's done.
