They’ve now been home for 3 weeks………

..... and it’s difficult to remember back to how it was before the pups were at home. Each morning we are greeted by 2 puppies who are so happy to see us, some mornings they can’t wait for us to wake up so they wake us up by running around the bedroom, and trust me they may only be little, but on a wooden floor, they may as well be a herd of elephants - and jumping up at the bed. At the moment they can’t jump onto the bed, but it’s not going to be long.

They have grown so much and developed such great little personalities already I have to keep reminding myself they are only 9 weeks old. Whenever they are awake and things go quiet for a few minutes, you know they are up to mischief somewhere. They love to chew things at the moment and don’t know the difference between what they can chew and what they can’t. They have loads of toys but prefer cardboard boxes. This afternoon, I found they had managed to get onto the bottom shelf of the bookcase and now the road map is missing a corner.

They have started to really enjoy going out into the garden, but anything and everything is eaten if I don’t get to them in time. They love to chew shoe laces and towels and each others ears. They know they shouldn’t and they stop when they are told, but they have very short memories, it’s all of 10 seconds before they start again. They chase each other and fight most of the time they are awake, but they do everything together. They have their own dishes of food, but they both eat out of one and when that is empty, they both move to the other. They have a bed each, but sleep together and of one goes upstairs, the other is only 2 steps behind.

It’s lovely to see them together and I can’t wait until I can take them on proper walks, they are so full of energy and curiosity, I just know they’re going to love going out. I haven’t yet worked out how to stop them tangling their leads up – they dance around each other all the time. Somehow, the idea of them both walking quietly side by side is unlikely to become a reality so I’ll have to work something out.
