My Walk, by Brandy, aged 16 and a half weeks

Me & our Brinkley have been out for a walk this morning and I’m not happy. He drags me about and stops me doing what I want and when I tell him, he just runs to mum as if I’ve said something naughty.

We have this lead thing between us that means we have to walk quite close together, and if I want to stop and he doesn’t I get dragged along. Now this morning started off great, he stopped at every gate post (including our own on the way out), the lamp post that’s about 2 steps further on, the fence post at next doors garden and it was great because all the other dogs had already been out and there were loads of messages for us. Then he started to pull me along without giving me time to read all the messages (he’s a quicker reader than I am), then he started pushing me into walls and things, he was really being bossy this morning. He always wants to be infront and when we meet new people he always make sure he’s the one they speak to first and it’s just not fair! I tried to get to the front this morning when we met this whiskery old soul with a very wrinkled person on a lead. I was closest to say hello because he came from the side path and our Brinkley jumped over me to get to him first, then I was stuck, because he tangled the lead across me and I couldn’t move. Mum untangled me but by then Brinkley had already said hello and was walking away.

I love going for walks but I need to have a word with our Brinks to tell him what I want to do when we are out, but I’m glad he’s there because he does look after me when we get scared, after all he is my big brother!
